The Climb

“Doesn’t look so bad,” Dylan stated.

“Are you kidding, this is like a death wish!” Tyrell stated. The two teen boys stared up the side of the mountain that they would be scaling soon. The two had thought that rock climbing would be a great way to pick up girls. But with their dumb luck somehow, they had joined the only all-men’s group at their local youth club. On the brights side, no one else in their high school would know about their blunder.

The members of the group were all welcoming and friendly, however on the bus ride over it became painstakingly clear that none of the men in the group were amateurs. They all had an adept level of knowledge and experience with rock climbing.  When they got to the base of where they were climbing the men all went to work setting up their gear. Then they swarmed around the two boys, helping them get ready.

“Are you sure we should be doing something so advanced for our first time?”

“What’s this? This is just an initiation climb.” Rictor, the de facto leader of the group, said. “Trust me this climb is great for first timers. As long as you focus on the climb, you’ll be fine. And of course, we’ll be here if you need us, but I doubt you will.”

Tyrell didn’t know whether to be unsettled or touched by how much faith Rictor had in them. A few of the men started climbing up. Dylan decided to go after them. Tyrell watched his friend start to ascend. He didn’t want to be left; he asked to begin his ascent up. The men cheered him on. He pushed off one rock and reached for another. Not too far behind, Dylan began to hear grunting. Dylan was trying to reach for a rock, but his arms were too short. Tyrell thought it was obvious he had to try another rock, but Dylan wasn’t giving up, he was fixated. And then as if he willed it his arm shot out, growing. Tyrell watched stunned as Dylan pulled himself over and up.

Continuing to climb, Tyrell heard a rip above him. Dylan’s cargo shorts had spit right down the middle and his underwear too because Tyrell could see his best friend’s buns. Tryell cursed to himself dangling up in the air was not the best place to consider if he was bisexual. “Hey dude, your buns are sticking out.” He whispered. Dylan’s ass cheeks grew in size as if they heard Tyrell trying to keep them a secret. Now Tyrell knew high altitudes could do strange things to a person, but he had not hallucinated that. But Dylan wouldn’t respond no matter how hard he called.

With a grumble, Tyrell continued to go upward, He just had to yell it straight in his best friend’s face. There were tattering sounds, as Tyrrell noticed clothing falling off his friend like snow. Well, that wasn’t exactly correct. Dylan’s torso was enlarging and the shirt he had on was ripping. The more he went up the bigger he got. It wasn’t limited to his upper body either; his legs were lengthening, giving him better distances.

Tyrell had to kick it into high gear or even keep up with him. By the time Dylan was shirtless his shorts had sealed his ass back up, reformed anew. They weren’t even brown any more. Tyrell couldn’t keep up; he’d look away to climb, look back and suddenly Dylan would be different.  All he was doing was worrying about his friend. He called and called for Dylan but no response. By the time he got parallel to his friend he could see Dylan’s face undergoing a metamorphosis.

“Dude what the fuck,” Tyrell whispered for only him and Dylan to hear. They were high up now. Tyrell couldn’t just turn around. Dylan’s attention wasn’t focused on Tyrell. He was still climbing along and growing. The higher he went the better his body got at it.

“Hey, don’t worry about him, Focus on the climb!” Someone shouted from above. Tyrell wondered if that was the problem, Dylan was so hyper focused, he couldn’t realize what was happening to him.

Then Tyrrell did something stupid. He looked down. His stomach dropped. The distance from the ground was too wide. He was going to pass out.

A chuckle came out next to him. Dylan was looking right at him.

“Dude, grow up, being scared of heights is for pussies.”
