Grow Into

Callen and his dad, Mr. Travis, were enjoying their holiday together with Mr. Northwind. Mr. Northwind was a huge, muscular man that reminded Callen of an ogre. Except Mr. Northwind wasn’t ugly, he was handsome. At least that’s what Mr. Travis always liked to say. The two men were dating, and Mr. Northwind had wanted to take the family on a trip. They had chosen a hotel, but they went on hikes about every day.

“When you’re older, kid, your daddy and I will take you on a proper camping trip.” Mr. Northwind chuckled while marching through the forest. Callen watched as Mr. Northwind’s boots smushed down the dirt with heavy footprints. The older man was way more experienced at outdoor trips than the father and son duo. Though Mr. Travis could easily keep up with his boyfriend, he preferred to stick with his son.

“Having a good time?” The man rubbed his son’s head.

The boy nodded, then asked, “Daddy, how come we don’t have boots like Mr. Northwind?”

Mr. Travis let out a laugh, “Oh buddy, Huxley would wear boots everywhere if they’d let him. This is a very simple hiking trail. I doubt we’re going to twist our ankles.” Up ahead Mr. Northwind was hiking along.  When the two men first started dating Mr. Northwind tried to stay with Mr. Travis, but it became very clear after a few months his natural habit was the wild. He needs to experience nature to distract himself, for slow walking quickly becomes monotonous for the mountain man. Mr. Travis said it was cute and reminded him of a dog, but Callen thought an actual dog would have been much cuter.

By the time they returned to the hotel, Callen was wiped out. Mr. Travis walked into the hotel carrying his sleeping son. As they waited for the elevator the two men talked.

“Once, I put him in bed. Why don’t you and I come down to the bar?”

Mr. Northwind chuckled, “Like a date for our vacation date?”

“Well, I know WE haven’t been able to spend a lot of time together just for ourselves.”

“Are you sure you want to leave your son alone in the hotel room?”

” It’ll just be for an hour.  He knows not to leave by himself.”

Callen didn’t feel the passage of time even if he felt the elevator ascending, his dad walking to the room and putting him in bed. There was a very sweet smell that hit his nose as voices whispered.

“What’s all this? You got dressed up?”

“If it’s our only date on this trip I figure I could put in a little effort.”

“Wow, look at you. combed hair, business suit and black dress shoes. You’re like a whole new man.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

“Are you blushing? You are, don’t turn away from me, you look good.” The voice kept going out the door and down the hall. Callen slept away.

When he woke up 30mins later it was to use the bathroom. By the time he came out, his dad wasn’t back. But then Callen saw Mr. Northwind’s boots sitting beside the man’s bed. The boy snuck over to examine them. They were here, abandoned, without the man’s feet in them. Then Callen had an idea.

What if he tried them on?

Callen smiled, plopping his tiny, socked feet into the oversized footwear. These belonged to a giant forget Ogre. Callen walked around laughing, as he pretended to be Mr. Northwind. After playing around for a while Callen was ready to take the shoes off. However, when he tried to take it off,  they were stuck. That should have been impossible. Mr. Northward’s feet were massive. Somewhere in playing with these shoes, his feet had grown and swelled up to the perfect size. Callen was now trapped.

When Callen realized this, he bent over to untie the shoes, but then his legs rocketed him far away. Next his thighs pushed out as muscles appeared. Callen stumbled around as his smaller torso was led around by adult legs. It wasn’t long before his upper body got the memo and bulk poured in. Started with his chest and back, cracking apart as his spine aimed higher. Next his arms pulsed with an invading masculine strength.

Every inch of the boy’s body was lighting up. The growth wouldn’t stop—couldn’t stop— nor did he want it to. If this is what Mr. Northwind always felt like in these shoes, who would ever want to stop wearing them?
